About Me

My name is Adrienne (a.k.a Ravendas) and I’m a bento addict. I’m also mom to a 3-year-old mini-diva (a.k.a. Munchkin), full-time state employee, and serve in the Air National Guard.

Why I Bento
Bentos not only nourish my appetite, but also provide a wonderful creative outlet and satisfy my love of beauty as well. I have always admired how the Japanese can turn a meal into an art form just by careful arrangement of individual items and the use of form and color. I’m also trying to lose a few pounds, so making bento lunches according to Japanese standards really help me balance my carb, protein and fruit/vegetable intake. It really makes me pay more attention to what I’m going to be eating, rather than just tossing a random frozen dinner in my lunchbag.
Bento lunches are also great for the environment because there is very little to no waste involved. With the exception of a few disposable accessories (paper cups, dividers, etc), all bento boxes and accessories are reusable.
